Sophorolipid is a type of glycolipid that is obtained from microbial sources of origin. The most common source of the biological substance is Candida bombicola, which is a yeast. Numerous non-pathogenic yeast species, including Candida apicola, Rhodotorula bogoriensis, Wickerhamiella domercqiae, and Starmerella bombicola, produce sophorolipids.
